a truly humbling moment…

I forgot to check my mail yesterday and I’m sort of glad. When I checked my mail today, I found out that I’ve been nominated for the Byrd Citizenship Prize and the Wison H. Elkins Citizenship Award. (You’ll find their descriptions below.)

Jeff nominated me…which kind of makes me nervous. But I’m excited that I’m being considered for these awards. I don’t think I’ll win them…I’m sure there are others who are more qualified. But here’s walking…

The Byrd Citizenship Prizes are presented as a memorial to the late President Emeritus H.C. Byrd and Sally Sterling Byrd, to the male and female member of the senior class who during their collegiate careers have most nearly typified the model citizen and have contributed significantly to the general advancement of the interests of the University.

The Wilson H. Elkins Citizenship Award is presented to a senior who has displayed outstanding involvement and leadership in campus activities and who has contributed significantly to the general advancement of student affairs.
