Anonymous commenters beware!
My blog has gotten a lot of attention these past couple of weeks. Not really sure why but I have people visiting from all around the world visiting. If you’re one of them, drop me a line! I’d love to hear what you think!
And I love getting comments! I love to hear what you think about the various topics I bring up…even if they are pointless! Unfortunately, the anonymous comments are increasing. I am a firm believer in Internet privacy. There are times when it’s appropriate, some times it is not.
When someone makes criticisms, anonymity is not appropriate. I should have the ability to talk to them about it to see what I should have clarified, and make apologizes when necessary.
There are too many blogs that are turned into flame-wars these days. I do wish to create a safe environment where people can challenge my thoughts and beliefs. In order to do this, there must be appropriate boundaries and guidelines.
If you wish to comment on my blog, I must request that you sign your name at the bottom of the message. Most of the screened comments that have come through either have misunderstood my statements or made assumptions about my beliefs, or both. If you take the time to confront me in my blog, you should take the time to confront me in person.
Negative, inflammatory, or insulting comments will usually get deleted. Anything that demeans or otherwise casts someone in a negative light will also get deleted. If you make bodily threats, the comment will be forwarded to the local police department along with your IP address.
If you have questions about this, please e-mail me. I will not be allowing comments on this entry.
