Yeah, isn’t it weird to care about someone whose life is so wholly unconnected to yours? In my case, I care very deeply for people that don’t even exist. Why is that? Is it an expression of the natural sympathy we have for others, or the fast way out of showing compassion without having to risk ourselves in the process? It’s all quote fascinating to me.
