We’re becoming stubling rocks…

May 21st, 2006

It’s been one week since the staff has arrived here at Virginia Beach, LT. We’ve done our best to create a place where students will feel welcomed and refreshed and ready to explore what God has planned for them. For the most part, things have been smooth.

Internet access has been the most challenging. Finding an inexpensive way to extend the range of the wireless network has tested all of our networking skills, from building repeaters to [http://www.turnpoint.net/wireless/cantennahowto.html|tin can waveguides].

For the time being, we’ve flashed the router to increase it’s transmission power. We’re able to get the whole condo complex, but the signal is weak. Since our budget it low, we’re not sure what to do next.

Other than that, I’ve been okay. It’s been challenging to get to know 65+ new people in a matter of days. I was able to learned all of the staff and intern’s names by the end of the first day. I’m looking to this as hope that I will be able to learn everyone else’s name shortly.

We’re taking lots of pictures and they will be uploaded soon. Be sure to check my [http://www.mikesoh.com/my_photos/|my photos] page for updates.
