Four weeks later
It’s been about four weeks since I’ve moved to Fairfax, VA. So far, it’s been everything I expected it to be, but more expensive! My move cost me about $400 (excluding rent). Despite that, I’ve been enjoying my new place and getting along with my roommate.
I must say, though, it feels weird to write "VA" instead of "MD" on my forms. Sometimes I catch myself because I’m so used to it. I officially have my car titled and tagged in VA. I’m registered to vote. And I have a bonus club card. Watch out world!
While the past couple of weeks have been great, it’s also been challenging. It’s been difficult to understand the traffic as well as find all the stores I need. I found the nearest Walmart, as well as the pet store. The only thing that isn’t close is a post office.
But everything is finally starting to settle down. My bird is getting calm about his new surroundings. He’s enjoying his trips outside.
Life is good.
